To use the Start Stop Method as a way to prevent premature ejaculation:
Step 1. Either the man or his partner will use an up and down stroking movement on the penis. Using this up in down movement is important because it is the most like intercourse. There are sensations in the pelvis in pubic area that the man should be paying attention to, most importantly the straining and contracting of muscles.
Step 2. There will be stimulation or a slight tickling sensation, this is the feeling that grows into orgasm. The man should concentrate and become familiar with this. With practice he may be able to gradually suppress this feeling and keep it at an acceptable level without going to far over. Once there is a firm understanding of this tickling sensation the man should be able to have some control over his premature ejaculation.
Step 3. Once there is a firm understanding of the tickling sensation the man should begin with the Stop Start Method. Either masturbate or have your partner stimulate the penis until the tickling sensation gets just about to the point of climax. At this stage stop until you are able to come back into control, at this point start again. Some experts say that doing Kegel's at this point will help men regain control. DO NOT do kegels at this time to try and prevent premature ejaculation, Kegel's will stimulate the muscle that controls orgasm and you will climax. At first repeat the exercise a couple of times, but do not over think it and get stressed out. Increase the number of times repeated with time and you should see some results.

The Start Stop Method does work for some men and I do recommend it to be utilized with other exercises for the man while masturbating, however most men feel uncomfortable talking to there partner about premature ejaculation and the fact that it could take months for it to work makes this method not my chosen technique.
